Band AND DJ - how do we split the time?

We have hired a band and a DJ for our wedding. Any tips or ideas on how to split up the time?

Personally I prefer a band playing, so I would have the band play the most... I would have them playing their normal sets (45 or 60 minutes?) and then have the DJ play during their break while they go pee/drink/whatever (15-30 mins).

But it depends what you're going for... if you want the band to play stuff early on in the night while people eat, and then switch to the DJ for dancing and party-time later on?

That's a great idea, we can just give them both a schedule of set times prior to the wedding. That gives us the freedom to tailor it the way we want. THANKS
