How many DJs?

How many did you meet with? I'm thinking this will probably be the hardest vendor for me to choose, so I may end up interviewing more than I've done for all my other vendors (typically 3-4). I currently have 8 names on my list, but may narrow it down a bit more before making appointments. Is that too many?

I think meeting with 8 would be too overwhelming and they would end up all blending together (unless they're all really different from one another). I'd see if you can check out reviews of them, speak with people they've worked for, or go to an event they're working to narrow it down before you meet with them. I haven't started looking at DJs or bands yet, but I think 3-4 would probably be a good number to actually meet with; some variety, but not too much.

We met with two. The first one we met with is the one we ended up choosing. The second one was very cocky and had that attitude that he was the best and he had a ton of other couples lined up if we weren't to sign with him. Mike (the DJ we picked) was very personable, and professional. He worked with our budget and gave us a great deal on our package. We were very impressed by him.  We ended up getting more for what we paid for than if we were to have siged with that other guy.
