Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Music not permitted in outdoor reception - HELP!

Our wedding will be about 150 people, and the venue we really love can only fit 100 seated in their indoor reception area. So we have to do an outdoor reception, which is totally fine with us! However, outside they do not allow any amplified music, so we would have to do our dancing in the indoor area. Would it be weird to do the dinner outdoors, the move indoors for the DJ with dancing, etc.? Any ideas to make it less segmented?

I was thinking perhaps to have a harpist or something of that sort playing during dinner. I REALLY want this venue, so any help anyone can give to make this work would be SO SO APPRECIATED! Thanks!

I think this would totally work. Some people don't like to dance so it is kinda nice to give them a more quiet space where they can socialize. The only problem you may have is getting the dance party started since it will involve herding people inside but your dj could probably help with that.

I think that would work, especially if your DJ helps. It's better than having no dancing, or dancing to no music!

Ditto PPs. Have your DJ (or outgoing friends/family) round people up to go inside when you're ready to start the dance.
