Alternatives to Mother/grandmother corsages

Any ideas for cute alternatives to corsages for the mothers and grandmothers?  The wedding will be outdoors in the afternoon--and corsages seem to formal.  I've seen suggestions for small bouquets, but that would mean they would have to be carrying them around....

To save money, we jsut skipped corsages alltogether. It was a casual wedding, and I doubt anyone noticed that they were missing.

If you wanted to make them less formal you could just do one simple flower (pinned on) instead of an array of flowers with greenery, etc?

I just did fabric flowers attached to cheap forever 21 pearl bracelets. Our wedding was also casual so it worked.

Our mothers/grandmothers didn't want flowers pinned on their nice dresses, so we had a hand-held stem or two of flowers.  They only had to carry them for the ceremony, then they set them down on the tables.

We're skipping out on boutonnieres and corsages, I'm glad to hear it worked okay for someone else with a casual wedding!

We did nosegays for the moms and they really liked carrying them in the ceremony.  The grandmothers weren't thrilled about their pinned corsages and in hindsight I wish I would have skipped them.

One of the florists I spoke with does them as a bracelet. You could do that and just maybe have one flower attached.
