First dance song not "lovey" enough?

Ok so I think I have finally come down to a song I would really love for our first dance and really fits our personality only problem is it's a little more up-tempo and not so Lovey-Dovey as most first dance songs are.

The song is Just Impolite by Plushgun (lyrics below).

Any thoughts??

LYRICS:
Friday night became so lonely,
When you came to make a break,
That seemed to take all day to make me angry 'cause I
Like you, maybe I'm just Like You
Holding on to something that we know we can not hold
or fold it seems we just can't forget
Are you frightened, by perfection?
Is this who you are, not who you want to be,

I walk the line like Johnny Cash
I made the bus in seconds flat
I called your line too many times
I'm not obsessed, just impolite.

Sunday came and went so quickly
now you say you want me back
you will hold on, despite my cons,
it seems we're meant to hate it!
Being so dependent.
But it seems we can believe that we're two peas in this pod
we call New York, gets so lonesome.
Are you frightened, by neglection?

Am I who you want to see yourself to be?

I walk the line like Johnny Cash
I made the bus in seconds flat
I called your line too many times
I'm not obsessed, just impolite

You're stuck on me, you don't know why
Can't leave me anytime you try
They say that everybody cries
so don't think twice 'cause it's alright.

Stay here,
touching you, touching the light in your eyes
that keeps coming back

Stay here,
touching you, touching the light in your eyes
that keeps coming back

Stay here,
touching you, touching the light in your eyes
that keeps coming back

I think it's great.  I am not mushy either and love a bit of a unique song!  Whatever floats your boat.  Have you run it by your FI?

it doesn't have to be mushy, it just has to mean something to you and your FI.  I think it sounds fine and i think you should go for it.

I'm guessing FI means Fiance (a little new at all this) and he said as far as music goes he just doesn't want country or anything super girly for any of the songs. He's one of those men who prefer to be consulted on final decisions for any given catagory and not so involved in the finding process.

If that makes any sense haha. I've tried to sit him down and talk about things like food and guest lists but after he throws out his few ideas getting him to sit down and pay attention to pay after page of options is just impossible. Smile

I like it!!  It's unique, but if it fits your personalities and is significant to your relationship than I say go for it!!  Great find!

As long as it is meaningful for you and your groom, the mushiness factor shouldn't matter. Enjoy!

Go for it! We are doing some type of rock ballad!
We have it narrowed down to a few, but it definitely wont be the typical first dance song.

    Do what feels right.

All  i have to say is do you!!!! We originally had a mushy mushy song idea for our first dance but then we heard "The Only Exception" by Paramore and thought about how it really represented us (him=damaged by his parents' divorce, me=jaded us=perfect). My FI busted out in tears.
