Happy Easter! I'm enjoying a breakfast cocktail with H. (He gave up alcohol for lent and it's been a LONG several weeks!)

My parents are on the way from their hotel to cook brunch with us, and my dog has not had any accidents in the house in days. I'm a happy camper!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

My family is getting together this afternoon but I won't be in attendance.  FI should be Skyping me sometime between 1:30-4:30pm and my grandpa doesn't have wireless internet.  I figured I have quite a bit of school work and house work to catch up on as it is, so that's what I'll be doing today.

I need to stop surfing the rescue sites for a doggy to adopt once we move.  I really love labs but apparently they shed a lot... and my parents won't even dogsit for shedding dogs. :(  I mean, c'mon, just look at this handsome guy!  CLICKY

I die!!! I am such a freakin' sucker for shelter dogs. The other night FI and I watched Madonna of the Mills, which is a documentary of a woman trying to rescue dogs from puppy mills and change legislation on mills.
It was so sad. It's amazing how many people just don't know about puppy mills. I don't think it's ignorance, just genuine unawareness.

</div><div>ITA.  I remember when my brother bought his dog.  We've always had Shih Tzus growing up and so he wanted a purebred shih tzu.  His search took him to a woman in McKinney (I think it was McKinney, anyway) who had bred them in her trailer park, and there was one little puppy left.  My brother said it wasn't the dog he thought he really wanted because she had breathing issues and had big ol bug eyes,  but he couldn't just leave her there -- he would have felt SO guilty (and for my brother to say that, that's a big deal... he always pretends things don't get to him like that).  So he paid $500 for her.  She has been the BEST dog he/we have ever had.  It breaks my heart to think about what would have happened to her if my brother had not picked her up.  These people do not know what they are doing, nor do they care... and the dogs are the ones who pay the price.  AWFUL.</div><div>
</div><div>We love Oreo though.   Smartest little dog ever.  I would never consider buying from a breeder.  Adoption all the way!</div><div>

  • Happy Easter!  I just got home from my parents' house and I'm about to head over to mass.  Thank goodness I live in an area with such a huge population so the churches have late masses!

I just realized that I cannot drive a truck to save my life.  Even just around an apartment complex parking lot!
