How long do I need my DJ for?

Do you think 5 hours for the ceremony and reception is enough? Most of the ones I can afford say they can do 4-5 hours for a good price.

Do you have a venue yet? They should have specified how long your rental is for. Are you doing the ceremony at the same place? Assume a 30 min ceremony.. include travel time if you are having the reception elsewhere (some DJs include or offer a mini set up at a seperate location.. so you can use him/her for both ceremony & reception.) Then add the time for your reception venue.

We are having our ceremony at the same location as our reception.. ceremony starts at 6- 30 min ceremony then a 5 hour reception. We booked our DJ for 6 hours.

We are having ours from 230 (half hr before ceremony) til roughly 1am but thankfully he cgatges only a flat rate not by the hour
