I'm planning a budget outdoor wedding for August, and I'm looking for some help regarding audio equipment.
We're hoping to hook some nice speakers up to a laptop and let it rip for most of the day, the best man/maid of honor will help with switching the music between ceremony, reception, etc. My fiance and I are both very technical so we figure we will be fine rigging it up ourselves.
I'm searching online for DJ equipment rentals, and I'm finding 'virtual DJ' packages being offered for around $300. I feel like we could do much better than that--we already have some sophisticated software installed on the laptop to smooth out transitions and play certain songs on demand and whatnot, so we literally only need the speakers and hookups.
Has anyone else done this before? Any recommendations?
