Co-worker Invites

Are you going to ask each of your co-workers for their home addresses or hand deliver your invitations?  I've been going back and fourth trying to decide how to send invites and who I am going to invite....

Re: Co-worker Invites

  • I asked for my coworkers' home addresses because I wasn't inviting everyone in the office- so I would feel weird hand delivering them only to certain people. Keep in mind though that there is a chance someone might not work there by the time your wedding comes around and do you still want them to come? This happened to me with my supervisor but since we sent him a save the date, and he was really helpful to me while he worked at our company, I'm still inviting him. I doubt he will come now though. Just something to think about!

  • I think I'm going to ask for their addresses. We are having a few people starting in our department soon and I don't want to make them feel left out because I'm not planning on inviting them because I've been working with the rest of the department since Feb so I know them all a lot better. Also, I'm only inviting my entire department (minus new people) because we have a small department. It's just 15 people plus their spouses (maybe a couple more if I invite a couple more bosses not directly in my department). I'm also using this opportunity to get their SO's name because some of them I don't know because they usually refer to them as "my husband" or whatever. So it's a win win!

  • Thank you so much ladies!  A lot of what was mentioned I hadnt thought about so yes, I am definitely going to mail the invites now.  We have a lot of new people too and I dont want to make anyone feel weird or awkard so I was just going to invite all of them about 8 in my dept total but I think Id rather go with the people I really want to invite and just mail their invites, im sure the newer people would understand considering I havent known them that long....thank you again!!  This can get pretty tricky....
  • I'm not inviting any coworkers, but if I was, I would ask for their home addresses. I'm a teacher with a lot of connections (our department, building, and division are pretty tight) and we're having a small wedding (only about 60 guests), so we made a choice to not invite current coworkers.
