So FI and I are working on a "Do Not Play" list for the wedding and we're stuck on how many of the typical "line dances" to include. We think maybe 2 are good to get people up and dancing, but we don't want to overdo it so for the ones we don't want, we're putting them on the do not play list (not even if people request them). My mom and FMIL both said they like the electric slide (I think its that generation) but we'd prefer not to play it bc its so old and overdone. We're also nixing the bird dance and YMCA. Are you all planning to do any line dances? And which ones?

I. LOVE. The wobble. I learned it in a karaoke bar with a group of women I didn't know. Older coworkers of mine have enlisted me to help them learn it for future weddings. It's a super fun one.

@Sleeper- even if you hate them, don't you think it would get some of your guests on the dance floor? I mean- I'm not a big fan of some songs like Gangnam Style so we put that on the do not play list, but there are others that I will tolerate because I know certain people like those. I definitely don't blame you for not playing songs you don't like, but I'm just curious because every wedding I've been to has had line dances. Maybe its a regional thing or something!

We're having the groomsmen do a funny 'dressed up' verson of YMCA. I'll let the older generation have the Electric slide and likely Cupid Shuffle for the younger generation. There's only about 8 songs on my Do Not play list.

I voted for Cupid Shuffle! I love it! Haha. What is the Wobble? I've never heard of it (unless it's also called something else??)

One of the only things FI was adamant about was no line dances. I said ok because I don't really care either way, but I do sort of secretly love the Cupid Shuffle.

haha nice!! Nothing wrong with a dance off Thanks for all the comments and votes ladies!! Our DJ said the Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide are the most popular on the dance floor, at least in our area. I think having something like Lauren said with one for hte older and one for the younger generation would be a good idea.

The Wobble is something I learned on a cruise, its pretty fun!! I would say the song is more of a rap song though so I'm not sure how much the older generations would like it at a wedding! haha

I just looked up The Wobble and yeah, I've never heard/seen it. It also looks way too complicated for me! lol

A wedding without lines dances?! I NEVER!!! LOL, I love line dances because it helps people from all backgrounds come together. I love them all but I voted for the Wobble. I also did not think of having a "do not play" list, hmmmm, nice idea.
