Hello Hello my marchers. I always tend to look towards the humerous and when I booked my hall 1 yr ago I told hubbie that my day was not going to be safe. Flash forward to the ongoing list of poo that is ruining my day...lol. The worst part is that these all happened within the last few weeks.
Exhibit A; My cousin and his finance decided they were having their wedding 3 weeks after my reception. NBD, I was upset, but now I am over it. Flash forward to a family gathering and some of my relatives were saying that I was being selfish having a reception. They felt I already "had my day" in march and having another one is "childish and lame". They felt that I needed to postpone or give up my day to allow my family the right to not choose between me or my cousin. Honestly this caused the most stress because now there is a discord within my family over it. I never "had my day" and ended up going to civil court and had a court house wedding. No white dress, no big party to celebrate. Now that was the original plan when hubbie got engaged in 2010. We wanted to get married for the protection that marriage entails, but wanted to save up for the big day. Hence, having the reception 3 yrs later, 1 yr after we got hitched. Everyone was fine with this plan until my cousin got engaged, and now people feel i need to move over. So I have family telling me they are forced to choose, and that my cousin and I should have planned it better....*sigh*
Exhibit B: I brought my dress and put it in my closet. My closet is a sliding door closet and I guess my cats learned how to open it because the dress and the bag have nice holes and claw marks in it....
Exhibit C: My husband did a REALLY stupid thing when he was a soph in HS. He basically took a $100 bribe to ride down a hill on a little girls bicycle. Well the bike didnt have sufficient breaks and he ended up breaking his front tooth, his other front tooth popped out, and broke his wrist. If we had cellphones and youtube I am sure this would have been played a million times over. Well they fixed his one tooth and the one that popped out was placed back in. He was told the one they put back in would eventually need an implant because the body would reject it and push it out. Well, that started to happen 2 months ago. So he had surgery to remove the tooth and set the "stuff up" for his tooth, he has a flipper that he has to wear till the implant is ready. When will the implant be ready? O in 6 months. Yep, either he will be post op or wearing a flipper for our wedding reception.
I know, I know, it could be worse. But man, it's fun sitting back and wondering what will happen next.
