March 2013 Weddings

Exit Strategies

How are you making your grand exit from the reception? Our venue has very strict rules on what is allowed to be thrown or carried by guests during the departure. My FI and I decided we wanted our guests to carry candles to light the path to the Dodge Charger we're renting for the night. :)

What are all of you doing? Birdseed? Sparklers? Glow sticks? I'd love to hear other ideas.

(Almost) 8 months to go, ladies!! :)

  • Gosh I never even thought about that lol...

  • We're not doing any sort of exit.. they must not be common around here because I've never seen one at a wedding I've been to. The only "exit" I ever see is from the ceremony venue (which for us is the same place, so no need for it).

  • We're doing sparklers. We're having a night wedding and reception, so I think it will be really pretty!
  • I've never been to a wedding that had one either but it sounds fun! I don't want anythingthrown, I'll have enough bobby pins to dig out of my hair I'm sure without also trying to get rice of whatever out lol. But glowsticks sound fun!

Same! My reception is most likely starting at 6, and we have the venue until 2am (not sure yet if I want to go that late though, but I'm not opposed, haha).

  • Grand exits are really popular here (NC). Most weddings I've been to have done bubbles or sparklers. Our reception is going to be really short, so we'll do our exit around 9:45pm, then our guests can feel free to peace out. :)

  • Ribbons on sticks to make little flags ^-^
Wedding Countdown Ticker There is no right or wrong way to have a wedding.

Same. ours will be over by 1 and our photographer will be gone by that point.  My cousin wanted one and she had bubbles, but her photographer was gone as well and the family cameras didn't capture the effect at all.  I love the streamer idea, but who knows.
