What are you working on?

Hey everyone! Just wanted to see what people are working on. We're all about 6 months away from our weddings, give or take a couple weeks. What kinds of things have you accomplished recently? What's on your checklist to get done ASAP?

I am slowly getting the projects for my centerpieces and other decor done. The next thing I need to do is paint the house shaped box we are using as our card box. I also need to figure out what we want to do for escort cards now that we are assigning tables. The bridesmaids dresses should come in next month and we will do hair and makeup trials and start dress alterations in December. So September wedding activities are pretty minimal so the I can focus on the start of my grad school semester.

Here's mine..

Done recently:
-Folded and glued all of our invitations this past weekend! We still need to add the actual invitation part and the inserts, but the "shells" are done!
-Finalized our centerpieces.
-Sorta finalized our guest list. There's still room to add and remove a few people here and there as long as it's not too many!
-My mom decided on bags for the favors (she insisted on having them so she's taking that on mostly). Just need to decide what we're doing for them! I'm thinking of doing some sort of trail mix as a nice nighttime snack for the reception :-)

Need to do ASAP:
-Decide on and book our honeymoon!
-Figure out invitation wording.
-Book hotel room blocks.
-Make sure BMs order their dresses.
-Find an officiant. We're thinking of having a friend do it so we should probably ask him soon!
-Start registering.
-Engagement pics. I contacted our photographer to get the ball rolling and now we just need to decide on a for sure day to do them. Probably a Tuesday coming up before it gets too cold. My parents mentioned that the leaves might not even really change this year and they would just drop. I've already been seeing this (and some changing colors, though yesterday it was 95 and today it's like 60 so??? lol) so we want to get them done before everything is all brown and blah outside!

Hmm I think those are the most important things!

Update: we just booked our engagement photos! We will be down at my parent's house Oct 6 for a wedding so I threw that out there while discussing dates and was surprised she said she'd be willing to work on a Sunday because she normally doesn't! So we will be doing them Oct 7. Now I need to figure out what to wear and start working out more again!

Hi everyone - 

My fiance and I got alot accomplished this week.

-We booked our honeymoon (7 days in Belize & Mexico)

-Setup meeting with caterer to finalize menu, hors d'oeuvre and the bar menu

-Mailed our save the dates.

-set deadline for BMs to have dresses ordered

-confirmed our officiant

Next i want to work on some DIY projects

-Monogram moss initals to hang on glass doors heading into venue

-order custom aisle runner

-make some pomander

Nice website Sleeper! BTW, does it cost a lot to work with a travel agent? I'm thinking about doing that to save money on our honeymoon (plus there are soooo many options and I can't decide!) but I'm afraid that the agent will cost a lot!

Hmm ok. Even $50 doesn't sound too bad when you take into account the money you're probably saving because of the deals they can find. I'll have to look into it! Thanks!

Yay I love these kinds of posts and seeing what others are up to Can't believe its 6 months away! AH! @ Sleeper- your website is amazing!! I love it!

What we've done recently:
- Confirmed rehearsal time, narrowed down dinner locations
- Finalized invitiation wording
- Started working on favor bags for the cookie table
- Purchased some gifts for my BMs and FGs... if anyone wants a cute gift for their FGs, check out these hankies! They came out SO cute I can't wait to give it to them! http://shop.weddingchicks.com/blushing-heart-flower-girl-personalized/
- Started working on the ceremony program and welcome packet for the OOT bags
- Picked up our wedding bands!!

What we need to do:
- Book rehearsal dinner location
- Sign a contract with a transportation vendor
- Have our first menu meeting with the reception venue
- Spray paint more frames and the wooden numbers for our table numbers
- Meet with florist to make a few adjustments
- Decide on a honeymoon location and start pricing it out + book it!
- Pick out Groom/Groomsmen tuxes (doing that this weekend)

well i had my makeup trial today and i have my food tasting on the 20th. i want to order the main part of the centerpieces soon. that's about it..

oh, and we got my fi's ring a few days ago!

Okay, you guys all have me totally freaked out! I feel like I've done NOTHING! Let's see:

- Engagement photos taken.

- Ceremony & reception site booked.

- Menu (mostly) chosen -- still need to make a few adjustments here and there.

- DJ booked (although I've never met them... planning from a distance means mom made that call for me. Keeping my fingers crossed!).

- Hotel room blocks booked.

- Florist appointments booked.

- Cake samples acquired for tasting this weekend.

IMMEDIATE TO DOs:

- Book florist -- will do while I'm in town this weekend.

- Book baker -- will do while I'm in town this weekend.

- Book day-of coordinator -- will do while I'm in town this weekend.

- Approve Save the Date design -- being designed by a dear friend. 

- Book honeymoon.

- Get FI to set up wedding website.

- Finalize guest list THIS WEEKEND.

- Print and send Save the Dates.

Okay, so maybe I've done a few things... Still feel a little behind. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get a lot done this weekend!
