Who to choose

I have it down to two photographers. They are both the same price. I am the only one that has seen both of them so i don't know how to choose which photographer. One I loved all of her pictures but I didn't see the full wedding. Also I don't think she has lighting only the flash for her camera. The other person has shot at my location many times and knows the lighting needed and has the lighting. I like his photos as well. There are a few I don't like but most I do. I have seen full weddings from him. Also he was recommended to us by a friend. So who do we choose? Or how do we decide?

Re: Who to choose

  • the one that was recommended.
  • Can't you ask to see a few full weddings from the female photographer? Keep in mind to ask to see something where the timing is similar to yours. For example, it's not helpful to see a wedding where she had 45 minutes to photograph the bride and groom if she will only have 20 minutes to photograph you and your husband, KWIM?

If you're interested in sharing their websites with us I'm sure people wouldn't mind looking at their work and pointing out plusses and minuses.

Beyond that, go with your gut.
  • Go with your gut!  But othere than that if the only thing that is holding you back from the second photographer is some pictures you don't like, let him know what you like and don't like.  The only time I wouldn't go with a photographer is if you a) don't like their style (how they shoot) and b) if your personalities clash.
