is this too pricey? or is it normal....

Okay I recieved my quote today from my final videographer.
$2,718
Includes 2 videographers for ceremony and reception
No time limit
5dvd
3 blue ray

what do you think? I'm thinking of just staying with the 2 cameras at the ceremony and only 1 camera for the reception which will bring the cost down to $2118

Is it a lot?  Well, that would depend on their level of talent, no?  If it's two college students, yeah, it sounds like a lot...if it's two highly experienced, talented professionals...it sounds cheap.  It's all about the finished product...

guess it depends on what state you're in and what you get, having 2 videographers will definetly up the cost but needed if you wanted two cameras.  And considering you're getting 3 blueray dics I imagine would really up the cost as well.  Maybe you should really think about what you couldn't live without concering the videos?

It totally depends on the quality.

There's a videographer in town who does documentary videos worthy of being shown as a TV show and he charges $3-4k.  It's breathtakingly beautiful and is very crisp for the theatre screen.  That is a ridiculous price for many, but for those whose budget may be $40k+ for their entire wedding, this is a bargain.  There's a market for anyone.

Then there's some mediocre videographers, with professional-grade equipment, but the quality is still just like a local TV commercial for a car deal or something and with a few songs on it.  It gets the job done.  They may charge $800-1000.

For what it's worth, we went in between for a price of $1.5 at http://www.poeticcinema.com/weddings.  That's just one videographer, 6-hour time limit, no high-def.  Had we upgraded, we'd be right where you are.

That's exactly what I was going to say.  If you want cheap news coverage quality videos, have a relative record it with their handycam.  If you want highly poslished well produced videos, you can spend well more than that.  There is no one right answer.
