I got engaged last September. Our wedding is this November. As soon as I got engaged on of my BM's made it clear she wanted to pick her own gown. I really wanted to pick for them but then I though about size differnces 2-26 and knew different ones might be best.
So from the beginning I told them they could pick. Just pick one by March so when I go see my sister who lives out of state we could have a starting point. We decided to go to choose dresses from Alfred Angelo. The main reason was it was 1 of 2 shops that had plus size dress so all the girls could try them before buying. I have a 2 3X ladies plus my size 2 sister. I told them I wanted to order by May. I wanted all wedding stuff done by the end of summer. I teach and the beginning of the year is crazy. So I didn't want to mix wedding stuff w/ beginning of the school year. I found out Alfred Angelo takes 10 weeks to ship, so I told the girls just order by July to be safe.
Well... here we are 13 wks away from wedding day, second week into August. We have no dresses picked and only my sisters is order. I told FI about this last night. I did explain to him I was giving the other BM's benefit of the doubt b/c they'd never been in anyones wedding before and don't understand alot of the logistics. He said obviously they are to busy to pick so just pick something and let them order over the phone,if they don't do that then they won't have time to get a dress, so they won't be in the wedding.
I told the girls last night FI and I would pick the dresses and please order by next Wednesday. Well the one BM who made it clear in the beginning she wanted to pick her own dress but DIDN'T EVEN ORDER was not happy. Futhermore she was not happy that my sister would have a different dress from everyone else and that she woudn't feel comfortable in my sisters dress anyway.
I explained to her that no one was wearing my sisters dress b/c I understand it wouldn't flatter anyone but my sister. However, I'm not making my sister buy a second dress just b/c no one else ordered in time so I had to just choose dresses to get them ordered.
This BM has complained ALL.... day. Before today I couldn't a response out of her about the dresses. I did not pick a MOH, so now this BM said that since my sister is wearing a different dress it would look like she's the MOH. BM also said that if my sister was going to be the MOH than maybe she should of hosted my shower. WTH?????
So I finally said FINE pick your own dress but actually take your *arse* up there and order it by Friday please.
Geez Louise she was driving me nuts today!
