How long...

I am curious on how long it took you to get your professional pictures back from your photographer. Its been 20 days since our wedding and I am curious, if this is pretty normal time frame to wait or should I be contacting my photographer. I don't want to see pushy but I am so exicted to see them! :)

I feel like its pretty normal, it took about a month for ours.

I read an article about hiring a phtographer, it said 4-6 weeks is typical to see the pictures after the wedding.

Some may offer an online teaser set or mini gallery shortly after the wedding but 4-6 weeks is pretty standard.

Our guy said 3 weeks, but maybe a little more or less depending on how busy the season is.

Are you talking about the proofs online or physical photo proofs?  I didn't get mine until 2-3 months after my wedding, for the physical proofs.  I'm trying to remember, I think the ones in the online gallery came a few weeks before or a few after that.  Seemed like FOREVER to me at the time.

Here's one reason why it can take so long.  If they are doing their jobs right, you are getting color corrected images.  When you are sorting through between 600-2000+ images, color correcting all of them so they look great can take some time.  Some studios have one person who this is their sole job, and so this can get backlogged.  If it's a one man shop, this  can speed up the process or REALLY cause some lag depending on their work flow and schedule.  Some photographers have them up online within a week, while others take months.  If they are physical proofs, they often don't print them out in house, so they order them, and then have to send them out to you.
