I thought about this..I want to do the trash the dress session since we aren't doing bridals, but I also feel like I should donate it.  I'm leaning towards donating it because I didn't have any alterations done to it & someone else could use it, but I want those dang pictures, too!

I'm burning it, a la the "kick ass trash the dress" session someone posted a while back.

    No really.

I was planning to donate mine but both my husband and my mother wanted me to keep it.   So I got it cleaned and now its in the closet, forever.

    I'm not bitter.

I had mine cleaned and I was going to perserve it but the cleaners ruined it. I guess they washed my silk dress because it looked like toilet paper after they were done with it. I walked out of the cleaners balling. It hung around in my closet for a long time and then I decided to trash it. I went jetskiing in it and it was awesome.

Right now my plan is to do trash the dress on the beach or else in the snow next winter, then have it dry cleaned and donate it. It's made out of polyester or some sh1t so I think it would be hard to actually trash it. So now I get best of both worlds. Another thing I've seen done is to have the dress altered to make it more casual and dyed so you can wear it for something else and get some use out of it.

Please tell us which cleaners so I don't use them!  I have a silk dress also that needs to be cleaned but I'm super scared to have it done (it was a sample so it really needs it before the wedding but I'm almost afraid to do it).
