Photog personality

So my FI and I meet with the recommended photog from our agency the other day. I loved him. He was very organized and seemed very professional.
My FI however thought he should be more outgoing and enthusiastic.  I told him I don't think he should be overly outgoing, and seem like him is overwhelming, I think it is better for him to blend in to get better candid pics.
What do you guys think? We still have time to ask to meet a different photog if we want.

i think it is necessary that you both enjoy being around the photographer. they will singlehandedly be the person you are around the most on your wedding day... that said... you don't want him to be obnoxious or too out there... can you imagine that for 6-10 hours on your wedding day... i'd want to punch the guy... i'm a happy person, but sometimes too much perkiness can bee annoying...

personality was definitely a big thing for us too. FI and i have very playful, yet dry humor personalities and tease each other all the time. it was important for us to have someone who could pretty much keep up with us. i LOVE our photographer's style, but when we first met him, we thought he was actually a little weird. but it was his quirky personality that made us go with him (well, in addition to his ridiculously low pricing in relation to how good he is!). we figured...most artsy people are a little "quirky" right...and they're geniuses...so he's gotta be worth it! lol...and actually, during our engagement shoot, we got to know him better and he ended up being super chill. still a little quirky, but super nice, and much closer to our personalities than we thought.

i think in the end, the quality of the photos should dictate who you decide to go with, along with practical factors like budget and time, but personality and making sure you get along does help a lot.

Thanks for the input guys! It gives us some other things to think about. Like I said I loved him but my FI thought he should have been more outgoing. He was just a little dry, but seemed to have great ideas and has done 3 or 4 weddings at our site in the last year, so LOTS of experience there.

He is sending us the link to his portfolio so we will get to look at his stuff soon! The studio does GREAT work and he has been with them for over 10 years.
