Audio help!

I think I've found a wonderful venue...the only issue is they have no audio set up/equipment.  The coordinator says that a DJ would have to bring it all in. Has anyone ever heard of this?  The ceremony and reception are in different rooms of same building, is he supposed to lug heavy equipment during the cocktail hour??

Re: Audio help!

  • A DJ can certainly accommodate you--they are used to the ceremony and reception being in different rooms.  But there are other options also--I used a string trio for my ceremony music and a DJ for my reception.
  • my DJ told us that she has some sort of mobile equipment she uses if the ceremony location is too far from the reception location, she said all she needs is electricity to make it all work, she brings in everything. I have no idea if thats standard for DJs or not, but we're using Heartsong productions, if you wanted to talk to her (the DJ's name is Lisa).
  • I think it's pretty standard for the DJ to be expected to bring in the sound equipment.

  • Like PP said, you should be good to go.  Our DJ was able to bring her own equipment for $100 more if it was necessary.
