Pre-wedding photos?

Because of my budget, I may have to do my wedding at our church, which is fine. However, beautiful scenery is important to me. Would it be strange to have my groom and I (and maybe our wedding party?) dress up the day before the wedding and head to a more picturesque location to take photos?

Or am I just putting too much emphasis on the scenery?

Some girls do this the day after--it is known as a day-after shoot.  But for the bride and groom only, not the whole WP.  I would not suggest doing it the day before, as your dress will get dirty most likely.  Doing it after the wedding, you are more relaxed and don't have to worry so much about it.

I don't recommend asking the WP to do it however--just take your formals with them at the church, it will be fine.  Or you can take your wedding party pictures at a more desired location nearby before or after the ceremony if your location and schedule allows for it.

I agree with PP. Or if there is a friend or family member with a pretty yard maybe you and the BM's can get ready at their house, take pictures, and then head over to the church.
