Videographer taking 7 months?!

So my sis got married back on October 9th of last year and the videographer has yet to send them the final product. My sis has emailed this lady several times and keeps getting excuses as to why it's not done yet. And in one email, she said it could take up to 9 months?! Has anyone ever run in to this or know of anyone who has? I'm fighting the urge to email this lady myself to find out what the deal is.

What did her contract say about how much time it would take?

That seems like an awfully long time to wait.  Our videographer has it specific in their contract that it may take up to 2 months, although they try to get it to you within 1 month of your wedding.  I agree with PP--check the contract and go from there!

7 months is ridiculous and no one would do business with a company that would take that long to get a finished product.  She's had all winter (the slow season) to get this done and the busy season is starting up again, which will only add more delays.  Assuming that her excuses weren't really valid (i.e. undergoing chemotherapy), I would step it up a little bit.  Send a letter via certified mail (which comes across as much more formal than an e-mail) saying that she has until XX date to deliver or you will have to take legal action, reference the contract if possible.  You can also inform the videographer that you will file a complaint with BBB, post on many online review locations, etc.  If your sister paid with a credit card, have her file a claim with the company.
