Wedding Photography and Videography Forum

Long or short?

I'm trying to decide on a videographer. Go with the one who offers a 3 minute web version and 20 minute finished movie? Or the one who offers a 10 minute web version and 1 hour finished movie? Which one are people more likely to watch?

TBH, I probably wouldn't watch either.  Especially if I was there, in person.  I have a video of our own wedding, and I've watched it once.  So my vote would be, go short.

For us the most important part of the total video was the ceremony and vows. As long as you get those in there as a whole you can probably capture highlights of the rest of the event and go with the shorter run and still have a nice final product.

Thanks for the feedback. So  did your friends and family all watch it as well? I want something they can all watch on Facebook and am concerned that 10 minutes would get kind of boring.

10 minutes for a recap would be long, and most likely boring for everyone else. If you go with the second option, you could see if the videographer could cut the 10 minutes into 3-5 min.

I know when one of my friends got married, all her family watched the video. I'm not sure if anyone else did though.

I would go with what mRm said, that you want to make sure you have the ceremony and vows in the video. So the 1 hour wedding video would be the best bet.
