Tip Photographer?

Hello all!

Been wondering what your thoughts are on tipping a professional photographer.  Should they be tipped?  If so how much?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

As a professional photographer, I love when my clients give me a little extra, It encourages me to go the extra mile when editing and finalizing their package for them.  However I never expect a tip.  I would advise not tipping until you've seen the final product however.  It would be regretful to be unhappy with the photos and have tipped big after also paying for the service.

    Hope this helps!

I think the general consensus is to tip the photographer if they work for a company. If it's their own business, it's a nice gesture but not mandatory. unless they've gone above and beyond at teh ceremony, be sure to do the tipping after you've recieved the photos!

I believe in always tipping the photographer.  I think $50 per photographer is appreciative (obviously depending on what kind of job they did). I don't agree with the not tipping of owners. I mean if you think about it, they are with you all day where as most of the vendors are not and I would hope they are working even harder then others because it's their own business.

I think 10% of your total for the photography service (exluding albums and such) should be tipped. I am going to give 300 since it is going to be 150 per person. I think that is more than fair and I would imagine they will be hasty about getting me my images back.
