First look photo transportation?

We are getting first look picture done at an offsite location before the ceremony. I'm looking into arranging transportation for all of this, but am kind of confused. I spoke with our photographer, and it's usually us at first for like 45 mins, then bridal party joins, then a half hour later adding family, then off to the ceremony site. We wanted to arrange transportation from the hotel to all the pictures then the wedding, but I have no idea how to do this since we need different people at different times. Any suggestions? How are you guys doing this? Is it better to just have everyone arrive at the same time and just wait?
Am I over thinking this? Thanks for your help :)

Re: First look photo transportation?

  • For the sake of simplicity, if I were you I'd let everyone know the schedule, then offer one shuttle at the time that the bridal party needs to be there (or at the time you and FI need to be there, if you were planning on also using whatever transportation you're providing).  Anyone who doesn't want to take that shuttle can get themselves to the photography site at their own "call time" in their own car.  You are under no obligation to offer everyone free transportation at the exact time they'd prefer so cousin Stevie can sleep an extra half hour.  If they want a free ride, they show up at the time the ride is leaving.  The end.

  • If you have transportation booked by the hour you could ask the driver to pick you two up first and then go back and pick up the rest of the bridal party  (third trip for immediate family?).  This is what we're doing from our photo location to the ceremony since we pay by the hour rather than per stop.  If the limo driver is just going to be sitting around while we get pictures done I'd rather get more use out of him.  I guess it also depends on how far away your picture location is from where you would be picked up from.  Just a thought...
