Have our photos... how to distribute?

We received our professional photos, and they turned out great!  We have full rights to use them however we want as long as its not commercial.   We are making discs of all the photos for our immediate families and sending discs of a smaller number of shots to wedding party members for their personal use.

I'm worndering, what is the ettiquette about posting photos to facebook?  I want to share a few really good shots of friends and family that were taken at the wedding with them, but should I just email the image or what?

Thanks for your advice :-)

I dont see a problem with posting them to FaceBook. It all depends how you and your friends communicate.

    a few tips:
    * if the image has a watermark on it (the photographer's symbol) KEEP IT. DO NOT CROP IT OUT.  it is disrespectful to the photographer to alter their images in any way.
    * if the image is yours (which it sounds like they are unmarked and digital rights are yours), then you can do whatever you want with them.
    * uploading to facebook will decrease the quality of the photo, and make it harder for your family to produce fine quality or large prints.  It is always best to email the original file.
    * if you do upload to facebook, check the privacy settings on the album, and it might also be a good idea to tag or caption the photo with the photographer's name to give them credit. =)
