So my FI suggested a family friend (professional wedding photographer) to shoot our wedding. After seeing her work (which is AMAZING) and going against my own better judgement and the obvious rule about hiring friends... we hired her. We have a signed contract and have paid our deposit (she was kind enough to break it into 2 payments for us). Just to give you an idea, we're paying a total of $2,600 for engagement session, wedding day (normally only 5 hours), second photographer, wedding day and engagement pics on DVD's, prints, and an eonline gallery.
Here's my rant and rave, if I leave a VM, text email, FB or smokesignal, it iakes several days to a week for her to respond. We agreed to send the remaining deposit balance and signed contract in mid-Novemember and once rec'd, she would send my 'welcome package' and engagement pics DVD. I emailed her earlier this week asking of she had sent the DVD yet (hoping it was not lost in the mail) and she replied saying that she was 'retarded and forgot'. It was sitting right next to her and she promised to send it the next day. UGH!!! Our pics are #2 most important to me in all of this and while I might be stretching it a little, what if she's 'retarded' (her words) again and forgets to travel here for our wedding?! My FI agreed to talk to her this week if we don't have our DVD yet, but I'm afraid that I'll go 'Bridezilla' on her if things don't change soon!
