Advice for good photos

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for how to relax when getting photos taken. I always look like someone is holding a gun on me in photos if I know someone is taking them and I'd really like our engagement and wedding  photos to be nice. Thanks so much.

Practice in a mirror, just be yourself and tell yourself to relax.  Usually photographers try to help relax you by talking to you or cracking jokes also.  Plus, they usually take multiples of photos to be able to have some choices.  Don't stress it!

Oh honey, just relax.  It is a happy time, so enjoy it!  I sort of have that problem too, and our photgrapher just told us to forget she was there and enjoy eachother,  laugh, play, tickle and have fun.  There is enough stress with weddings, having your picture taken shouldn't be one of them.  Maybe do something that relaxes you before hand, a massage, yoga, a "beverage" (I used that one) can help.  But my photographer was the biggest help.  She just made me feel comfortable, and so pretty, and for a 40ish gal that is a big deal.  I felt young again and our engagement pictures were so great!  Maybe email her?  Her email is cpmays@gmail.com.

    Hang in there!

You know what? Any good photographer is going to make you feel relaxed. They're going to talk you through it cleanly and calmly, get you to laugh, talk to each other, tell your story, whatever. Think of it more as spending some time getting to know a new friend, who will occasionally say things like "turn your head a little more to the left."

Simple advice, shoulders down and  back, stand up straight, smile.  Also, change your body position if you think about it, instead of standing straight forward, stand towards your hubby and turn your head towards the camera.   Tilt your head a LITTLE bit.  Another crazy trick is lean a little forward, it looks great in photos. I love to tell people how to pose then show them the photos as we go.  It helps you realize what looks good.

One friend once said, just smile and get it over with, don't fight it.  That really stuck with me.  Happy Wedding!
