That is creepy, and I was all freaked out expecting them to do this, but our teaching couple really didn't even talk about NFP.  They focused more on the calling of the couple to procreate.  They would just talk to us for about twenty minutes per topic in the little book, then give us time to fill out the worksheets, then send us off to talk about it.

The kid talk was probably the most fun, because I'd just started learning NFP and got to teach Andy about it.

It's my understanding that the FW and Dallas Dioceses don't do the same thing when it comes to the premarital classes.  Heck, Amanda got paired with a couple but we didn't.  I know others who said that the FW class is way different than the Dallas ones.

The Dallas one that we went to was in Oak Cliff at the Diocese Offices.  Our "talk" was on Saturday afternoon and I just looked at Bill like "Are you serious?"  The couple leading it were very sweet, but it was still just awkward.

<div>Well according to FI's older sister, when they went to EE through the FW diocese, they were in a group with 2 other couples and they talked issues out as a group? Now, this was probably 4-5 years ago, so maybe that has changed. I just feel like if they're going to do that they need to be pairing you with couples that are similar to you... like age, relationship length, or something. Otherwise I feel like you won't agree on much of anything, and so I don't really know how much will get accomplished.</div><div>
</div><div>I can't wait to come back with a full write-up on Monday :)</div>

    1. I got a speeding ticket on the way to work (didn't realize it was a work zone and the speed was 45- I was going 60). 2. Received some no good news on work which will require a ton of time to fix. 3. Our dishwasher broke and we can't find the warranty paperwork that came with our home. Bad things come in threes I hope.

I am going to go hibernate.
I have nothing flameworthy today, but I had weird @$$ wedding dreams last night. My favorite was that Courtski sent her RSVP back, but she went out of her way to go get one of those juvenile invites at Walmart (you know like a birthday party invite with a puppy on the front), and RSVP'd as "<strong>Dr Regina Phalange and Husband</strong>". As if that wasn't weird enough, they also included that they had reserved room 420 at our hotel. Seriouslty WTF is wrong with my head.
Amanda- It's at the Catholic Renewal Center in FW, right next to Nolan. We've gotta check in by 7:45- <strong>any suggestions on good places to eat near there?</strong> Cwaggoner- LOL but you're right, being good at traveling is a great skill to have- when I had to figure out travel to, from, and through Europe for a semester, I learned A LOT. PS- did I miss your first name/nickname? Sometimes it's easier to type a name than a s/n :) Julie- Yeah, not to be full of myself, but FI and I have always been a little more... mature I think is the word I'm looking for, compared to our friends. I'm the oldest of 3, and my family went through some really tough stuff growing up, so I had to start acting like an adult around age 10. FI is a middle child, but his older sister acts like the baby of the family, so he's always had to step up and do pretty much everything for his family as well. I do not relish the idea of spending 2 nights in a room with a total stranger... what if they smell? What if they snore?? I know these are immature concerns, but I'm seriously having college freshman flashbacks over here.
    Posted by kristan1022
If you're willing to spend some time downtown, there are TONS of good places. My favorite is Saviano's for Italian. A little further down you could hit up West 7th (if you didn't feel like doing the whole parking and walking thing) and there lots of places over there too...Chuy's, Mi Familia, Fireside Pies (pizza - haven't had it but heard it's good), Sushi Axiom. Yum. Somehow I am now getting hungry even though I just had lunch, haha.

I guess my only flame for today would be that one of the caterers we are interested in can't do a tasting until the 29th. That's so far away! At least he's tentatively holding our date until then though, so I can't complain too much...

Don't get me wrong -- I LOVE TCG cakes (mmm....) -- but communication isnt one of their strengths.  After all, we were led to believe for over a month that they were available on our wedding date after e-mailing them and speaking to one of the girls at the shop at a Saturday tasting.  And then we found out they weren't available anymore after our hearts were set on it.  Suuuuuuck.

But I'm sure they want their payment, so hopefully they will call you back soon!   And, you know, if you have loads of extra cake after your wedding I'd be happy to take a few pieces off your hands!  Haha

If I'd have know this sooner, I would have scheduled myself for 'sample Saturday' so I could go in there and rip 'em a new one (and eat dessert for lunch). That being said, they automatically run your card for payment 2 weeks prior to the event so you should be good to go. I had to call a couple times after I mailed in my contract and deposit becuase the check hadn't cleared for 2 weeks after I sent it. I was a tad concerned.
