Hello! My FH has expressed an interest in getting video of our big day, but in looking at our budget, adding another (potentially) several hundred to a thousand+ dollars to have it shot professionally makes me get all twitchy.
I agree with him there are moments we really want documented on video, like our vows, the toasts, dances, etc, but I was thinking maybe could pick up a few FlipVideo-type cams to make available to our guests/task a handful of people to capture certain moments instead. It could be really fun to edit the footage together ourselves, and at a fraction of the cost of a pro, especially considering I've seen some really awful professionally shot wedding videos.
Have any of you done this, looked into it, seen something similar pulled off, have horror stories? I'd love to know if my cheap compromise is an awful idea or a stroke of genius.
Thanks so much!
