Photographer Question Need Help!

Hi .. Finding a photographer has been so annoying. Can someone tell me how long photographers stay for the day? I have one person in mind that wants about 5000 and is planning to leave right after cake. Is this normal?

It depends.  Usually it goes by how many hours they are there for.  How does this photographer do it?  If it is important to you to have more shots talk to them about it and if they can't accommodate then look for another photographer.

It should depend on what you want. You are the customer and the bride and it is your day. If you want the photographer there for the after cake dancing, then they should make a package that includes time to do that. Figure out what shots you want, what events you want captured and bring that to the photographer. If they can't do that or are unwilling to do that then find another. 5,000 seems a bit high for not being at the wedding for 8 hours or more.

depends on your location, here 5000 is about normal for 8 hours for an experienced photographer.

I'm not sure where you are, but it can be normal depending on your location.  I am a photographer and my full day coverage package goes up to about an hour or 2 of dancing for $2,000.  So 5 grand seems like a lot to me, unless you live in LA or New York.  I would keep looking.
