boudoir makeup?

I signed up for a boudoir session and they have the option of a makeup artist. This is an extra $75...is it worth this much or could I just get away with doing a smokey eye myself?  Definitely getting makeup for the wedding day but not sure if I should splurge for the boudoir pics (which are going to be presented in a small book anyway...)

I went to the MAC counter at the mall to have my make-up done and false eyelashes applied. I had to make a minimum purchase of $50, but that included the eyelashes and then I bought some make-up. I thought it was a good deal and the make-up artist did a great job.
