Who else is cheating and using their shower gifts already?!?

I know it's bad etiquette/bad luck/whatever....but I couldn't help myself.

Lots of the big stuff and the stuff that we won't replace until we move into our new home is being stored at my parent's house right now....but....I have been using my new coffee maker and Kitchenaid blender and baking sheets almost every day since my shower!! whooooooooopsie!!

Fiance doesn't mind - I made us frozen yogurt, peanut butter, and biscoff cookie milkshakes last night. SO GOOD and totally worth busting open the blender for.

I know Lady said she was already using some stuff...hopefully we aren't the only ones

I am! As soon as FI got home last night he started putting up one of our gifts before I could even say anything.

The only thing I really don't want to do is spend the gift cards. I want to wait  until after the wedding so we know what we have to work with! That might be hard though because FI was already spending them in his head yesterday...

From my shower yesterday we already have our new toaster and new spice rack on our kitchen counter! We needed those things! lol. We are storing most of the stuff though at Fi's parent's house just because we dont have room and will hopefully start placing offers on houses soon.

I am also! Multiple people told me to use everything, including my mom.  FI is kind of against it but he has no problem using items he likes (like our new cereal bowls!).  I'm planning on washing and putting away stuff this weekend when he's out of the house!!

I'm using a lot of the stuff we got. The evening of our second shower, Paige and I spent some time rearranging our kitchen. We put the new dishes in, and boxed up the old dishes to be donated. I also washed the new duvet cover and it was on our bed that night. Whoops!

ha ha we used our new sheets and down comforter right away too.  I also unpacked all of our new casual dishware.  It's too tempting not to use the stuff.

We aren't moving into our house until next month but we'll definitely start using our gifts prior to the wedding!!  Close enough, I say.

I haven't even had my bridal ahower yet?  My wedding is July 14th, when should I have my bridal shower?  Or should I have had it already?

Has someone offered to host a shower for you?

Showers are typically thrown 1-2 months out from the wedding. But, there are no shower police that will stop you from having one outside the 'typical' time frame.

Oooppsss I'm guilty of this too...  FI was on board, because that meant he didn't have to bring all of the boxes upstairs or have everything piled up in our living room anymore!  LOL  I haven't used my awesome Kitchen aid mixer yet... that's still in the box.

I've used some of it but not all.  I've had one small shower and my bigger one is in 2 weeks. We got some pieces of the new dish set, but not the whole thing... because of that we left all the new dishware in the basement. Maybe after the second shower we'll trade. So far I've used the knives, my new cookie sheets (cookies came out way bettter) FI used the beer glasses and I used the cash to buy a nice dress for the second shower that I'd been dying to get but thought was too expensive.

The only one we've used already is the laundry basket! The rest are all piled up in my little apartment.

I was going to wait but my two friends who are also getting married this summer said they were going to use their gifts before their weddings, so I joined them. I've used a handful of the gifts already and put the entertaining pieces away. I'm 110% sure that FI and I are going through with our wedding so in my eyes I don't see why we shouldn't be able to use the gifts.

I even used a gift card I got at my shower and purchased a couple gifts off one of my registries because I need them now, lol  I bought a pitcher for sangria I'm making for my bachelorette party and a cast iron brush so I can use the cast iron pans I got from my shower and then be able to clean them properly.

We got an awesome fondue set from Sur La Table and I REALLY want to open that one up next!!!

Did someone say fondue!?! Umm, I want that now. Yum.

(My friends and I have an inside joke where we say, "Did someone say cake?" in a really funny voice... so that's how I said, "Did someone say fondue?" But, obviously you can't hear the tone over a message board. Argh.

Once I have my shower, I'm sure I'll be in the same boat! We received two wedding gifts though and we have left those in the box. Shower gifts are going to be so much fun though that I bet I'll really want to use them!

I received a macy's gift card that I plan to use towards my BMs gifts. shame, shame, shame!

I have also started using some of the things! A lot of it is from FILs because they told us to start using it. I was waiting on a lot of things, one until my 2nd shower happened just incase I got a lot of duplicates or if someone got us something nicer not on our registry. And because I am too lazy to box up all the old stuff and open all the new boxes, I will probably start finding places for things and packing the old up  

I have definitely used the Kitchen Aid Mixer and Rachael Ray cookie sheet and they are both amazing!!

We've definitely used some of it.  I'm leaving a lot of the dishes boxed until we have a more complete set so we can donate the thrift store stuff we're currently using all at once. but I've used our salad spinner, wine aerator (yum), and some of the homemade goodies my aunt gave us.

FI and I are not backing out and I dont believe in all that mumbo jumbo BS when it comes to BAD LUCK. Seriously have you ever heard of someone divorcing becuase they used dishes too early? Just pure sillyness.

We have definitely started using shower gifts, but only what's really necessary. FI is moving into my condo this weekend, and we had a huge yardsale a few weeks ago to get rid of a lot of our individual kitchen stuff. It seemed silly to have 2 old toasters, and a new one, so we sold most of our existing stuff and are using the new. We have 6 place settings of our everyday dishes we're using, along with a toaster, some beer pilsners, and our Calphalon utensils. Ooops and I also used our new crockpot to make pulled pork this past weekend (sold my old one). I've left some other things in boxes like the panini press and waffle maker. It will be fun to use those kinds of gifts once we're actually married. FI actually got his feelings hurt when I told him why it's not proper etiquette to use the gifts early!

I didn't even pretend to be good!  I just put things in their new homes and have been using most as I see fit!  I haven't used the new blender or tablecloths/napkins yet --but then again I haaven't had a reason too.

I'm not, but only b/c all of my stuff is currently in a different country than I'm in. If I was able to use it now, I wouldn't feel bad about it! A few ppl have even asked me how I am liking their gift (b/c they didn't know I left it all in the U.S.).
