Boudoir Pics - ye or nay?

I'm debating about doing a set of boudoir pics for the hubs as a wedding present.

For those who did them, it's obviously not a coffee table book, but is it a "stays in the bedroom" kind of thing, or do you let your man take them if he goes away, etc. Or, did you even share them with some people?

I ask because we're both military, and I'd love him to have something sexy to have while we're apart, but at the same time, if anyone ever saw them, it could possibly damage my reputation as an officer. i wouldn't want to lose respect if someone got a hold of my sexy pics!

anyways, what are your feelings on them, how do you treat them, etc! i'd love to know. thanks friends

Hi there.... I think you should totally do them!  I did them for DH, and I loved every second of it.  If you find the right photographer, they will make you feel comfortable and sexy, and it will show in the pictures.

I made an album on Shutterfly with the pics.  I got carried away and made a huge book..... the pics look cool larger, but I think it's kind of weird so big.  I would definitely do a smaller one if I had the chance to.

I showed my girlfriends the pictures because i just loved them so much, but I don't think that I would want DH to show his friends.... awkward! haha

I totally understand your dilemma with being an officer.  I would think that if your guy wanted to bring it with him while on deployment, that is fantastic.  Hopefully it would stay "hidden" while there, and if anyone did see, they would understand that the pictures are  not up on the internet, they are in the hands of your husband.  I'm not sure if that is realistic or not.... but we can all cross our fingers, right?!

    HTH!

I say YES!!! Its a wonderful way for the new hubby to get something "Just for Him". My fiance and I just did it, last Saturday!! We chose the photographer who did our engagement photos, we also opted for them to do the shoot at home!  My Fiance, wanted to get in on the action which made me feel so comfortable! So now he has pics for himselft, and we have other pics of just nice intimate pics of the both of us! I do suggest that you keep it private! Its for you both, so you may want to discuss that.

    Good Luck!

I would highly recommend doing them! I really enjoyed the experience and DH really enjoyed receiving them. In your situation with being an officer, I would suggest you keep them very classy or maybe choose a theme like 50's pin up girl. You really have a lot of options and creating a photobook yourself should ensure they stay within your household! Best of luck!

First, let me say that I'm a bit more bashful; I can't imagine taking them let alone having them seen by others.  That said, if you're FI is in the military, expect that they will be seen by others.  You have to decide whether or not you're comfortable with that from a personal and professional perspective.  But short of keeping them in his wallet, I don't think you can expect that they will be viewed only by his eyes.

I say totally go for it. I did mine through Felicia Perry Photography and I absolutely cannot wait to give them to my hubby-to-be. It gives you a new heir of confidence and feeling of being sexy. Think of it as the women's bible, Cosmo, has told us our entire lives- give him a peak and he'll be dying for more! I wouldn't send him with the entire book, maybe just a picture instead? That way, you don't lose total credibility if anyone got a hold of it. Plus it's something intimate between you and your husband, not the world. And he'll be dying to get back to not only the book of ALL your sexy snapshots, but to the real deal ;)

    Best of luck!!

Yea! I was so nervous about them... also for professional reasons, but mine came out SO classy that I even thought about showing my mom. Check out photographers portfolios ahead of time, and make sure you pick one who has the feel you want. I used Tait Photography, who travels around the country for boudoir "marathons": http://www.taitboudoir.com/

It was a really confidence-building experience (and I am super conservative) and something that my fi was CRAZY about (I couldn't keep it a secret!!)

Well I may be biased being an Atlanta Boudoir Photographer but I say go for it, I can't ever recall a customer being unhappy.  Also as a husband myself I (and most I know) have a boudoir picture in my wallet of my wife, my father kept one of my mother until he passed away.  It was of her in a two piece swimsuite take in the early 50's, very risque for its day, that picture was with him for over 40 years.

Dont forget you can do some in the hat (only a hat?) or with a ball.  You may be able to get away with some outdoor shots as well.  I am going to go with football, but the dark paint under the eyes (makeup) in team colors with a tied up shirt and some shorts or even panties if your outdoor location is free of too many onlookers.

For indoor, a three point stance hiking the ball could be show off your legs and backside (depending on how its shot).  Be creative, find some gym lockers for a backdrop.

OK enough of my ideas, you need a closer photographer :)
