Is it the brides responsiblility to pay for the wedding photos for her family?

After my wedding, I provided several opportunities for family members to order the professional pictures from our wedding as well as provided the inexpensive version on snapfish for anyone to order.

Everyone took the opportunity to ask my photographer to take family pictures at my wedding, but no one ordered any pictures except for my mother??

Now certain family members have complained that they dont have any of our wedding photos. Why do I feel like the bad guy?

I feel like my husband and I have went over and above to provide our guests with a great evening paying for most of the wedding expenses that I just dont feel the obligation to buy pictures for people on top of this. Any thoughts?? or am I just being cheap?

If people went out of their way to ask the photographer to take pictures of their family, I definitely wouldn't buy them.  Depending on how much time it took your photographer away from taking other reception photos, I'd actually be pretty annoyed.

You made a snapfish account and shared the link with them, I think that's fine.  If you want to get them photos at the next gift-giving event (birthday, Christmas) then that's a possibility.  Most people do give pictures to their parents, and often grandparents, but if you have other relatives complaining I'd say that's pretty out of line.

Dang the wedding is expensive enough.. I wouldn't be buying pics for anyone. We are going to have an album made for our mom's but that's it.

I won't be buying pictures for anyone from the wedding.  If they want pictures they can purchase them themselves.  However we will be getting photo books for our parents likely for christmas.
