When is it appropriate to ask for a peak at your wedding pictures

We used a friend who is trying to start up a photography buisness to do our pictures.  I am anxious to see some of the pictures because nobody and I mean nobody took pictures at our wedding but the photographer so granted after 8 days I'm really anxious.  When do you think it's an acceptable time to ask about a sneak peak.  Oh also I'm making my thank you cards and am planning on using a picture with them.

What does your contract say? Mine took one week for sneak peeks and three weeks for the disc, and I think that's really fast.

Just ask him/her when you should be expecting a sneak peek.

I got  25 fully edited 'sneak peaks' the day after the wedding!  The rest of the photos (almost 1000) came approximately 6 weeks after the wedding.  Your photographer should be able to show you a few by now hopefully!  Just ask... there's no harm in that :)
