Looking for Wedding Photographers in the Los Angeles

I'm living in Chicago right now but am getting married in Southern California next year and wanted to start searching for photographers.

In Chicago, the market seems kinda evenly spit between "Independant" photographers and the larger "Studio's" (places like Edward Fox or Modern Image Studio).

1. Are there any decent large studios in Southern California?

2. Of the "Independant" variety - is there any one to check our or stay away from?

Thanks, this is my first post!

Check out Michael Chansley Photography (www.michaelchansley.com)  He is an independent photographer and is really good!  Very affordable too!

    Hi Cloe!!

I am using Michael Rueter. I worked for one of the larger wedding photography companies, and they seriously neglected the clients after they booked and were locked into contracts. Now I work for Michael. Individual photographers tend to give more attention, and care about quality more, since it's their actual name on the line. I've been in the industry forever, I know all of the horror stories, and it was a no brainer for me to pick Michael. His work is seriously amazing, and he is extremely consistent. Which is important to me, since most photographers will only show their best work in portfolios. Check him out...

    Cloe,

Definitely check out Leah Lee. She is amazing and her prices are better than most out here. She can do any kind of photography, but she specializes in the non-traditional style. Check her out on her website.
