I looked into it. It's a beautiful venue. But it's expensive. You have to use their caterer (also expensive). For me, the cost was the only drawback though. And once my wedding was all said and done, the cost probably wasn't the issue I thought it was originally. But I have no idea what your budget is.

ETA: I also got a snobby vibe from them when I was corresponding by email. Sort of like, here's the info. but we're not taking you seriously until you show us the money. Same vibe I got from the Stoneleigh.

Same here. I looked into it because FI's grandparents got married there 55 years ago, but it was way out of our price range. I believe it was around $150/person for food, drinks, and venue and that was the cheapest option. I tried to talk them into letting me use it just for a ceremony outside, but they were definitely not willing to work with me.

my sister got married in arlington hall, it's such a beautiful place and the caterer food glorious food is known for the biggest upscale catering company in dallas, their work is just flawless. Love their food. Arlington hall is usually booked all year around, but it is pricey. I would recommend it if its in your budget. If im not mistaken i think it starts at 35 per person for food, and service and then you have to add the beverage package.

this. they wouldn't even reply back to me. i'm pretty sure it's because i asked how much it cost in the first email. it IS beautiful, but i didn't want to deal with that level of BS right off the bat.

I can't remember the quote I got (it's on my home computer) but by my recollection it was more than double that in 2009.
ETA: Here ya go from their website: Also rental of the whole place during peak wedding season is $3k.
The average cost for a four hour evening reception is

$125.00 - $200.00, while a four hour daytime event is $75.00 - $125.00 per person.

And to be fair, I'm sure they get so many requests (like the Arboretum--yet another place I got a snobby vibe from) that they just spit the info. out and wait for you to call them because I'm sure many people, once they see the price, don't. But OP, if it's in your budget, it's beautiful. DH used to live next door and we'd see weddings there all the time.

Thanks for the reply's. I thought the prices online started at about $35.00 per person??? I sent them an email asking to set up a time to meet. It's only been a day but I haven't received a response.
I just started my research and haven't looked at any places yet. I would take any suggestions for a reception site. As most people are I am on a budget.

Jenn, the $100+ per person includes: food/alcohol, servers, attendants, fees, bartenders, valet, securty and linens, according to their website. So, that is pretty all-inclusive which isn't bad. But it's still $100/pp. They require a certain amount of servers, valet, security, etc. for a 4-hour event. Plus $3K rental on top of all that.

There are definitely more budget-friendly options. Check out the venue sticky at the top of the page--lots of info. there.
  • The first time I contacted AHall; I spoke to a nice woman. When I spoke to them later, the correspondent was a little snobby, she told me they were booked but when I asked what dates they had available it was obvious that she wasn't interested in my business because she didn't ask me any details, sound friendly or try to setup a meeting. I also got a kinda snobby feeling from the Garden Gate in Dallas when I called to find out what a consultation entails. She said they run 1.5 hours which is fairly long.
