Time for Photos

I was planning on getting married at my outside venue where my tented reception will be. Now I'm considering getting married in a Catholic church which I originally wanted to.  There will be a 3 hr gap between the ceremony and reception and our beautiful reception site won't let us come early to take photos.  I'm concerned we won't have enough time to take all of our wedding party and our photos in one hour (cocktail hour).  Can we take photos of our wedding party somewhere else then just take our photos our reception site?

Re: Time for Photos

  • I would take your wedding party photos at the church and your bride and groom photos at the reception venue.  Or ask your photographer of he/she knows of a good spot in between.
  • I was in a wedding in Philly and the entire bridal party and photographer went to the Philly Art Museum (Rocky Steps) to get photos between the ceremony and reception.  It was a decent location with nice architechture and also could get some philly skyline int he background of the photos (not a fan of the parking lot and cars but you get the idea in the photo below).

If you have 3 hours there are so many places in Philly you could go to get photos taken- your photographer should most certainly be able to suggest some spots.

Some other good Philly locations: Love Park (with the infamous LOVE sign),  Boathouse row, Kelly Drive, Wissahickon Park... lots of great spots!
  • Thanks so much!!
