Where to take Groom/Groomsmen pictures?

Me and my bridesmaids are doing our "getting ready photos" at the hotel and then going to the venue to take group pictures. But i am stuck on where the guys should do their pictures. They arent getting a hotel room and the house they are meeting up at is too far from the venue to have the photographer drive to, so i would like to find somewhere open to the public near our venue to have them go do photos at.

Where are you having your groom/groomsmen do their photo's at?

  • My DH didn't rent a hotel room either, but his brother did so he used his.  Do you have any OOT that might have a hotel room he could use?

If not, I wouldn't worry about it honestly.  There aren't that many groom getting ready photos.  You can certainly skip those.  And and as far as the regular groomsmen photos, I would just say do those at the venue.

Your photographer might be able to suggest something.
  • What about at the ceremony venue? We got married at a church and the girls and guys took their separate group pics outside on the Church's property beforehand.

  • The only problem is we have a time crunch and us ladies will be at the venue prior to the ceremony taking pictures and we DONT want a first look, so the guys cant be there until shortly before the ceremony.

  • What about the hotel lobby or even outside the hotel?  OUr GM are getting ready at the best man's house.  And we are actually having 2 photographers, one shooting the girls and another for the guys.
