Wedding Photography and Videography Forum

videographer??

We have hired a photographer whom we love and got a great deal, he's a friend of a friend. We haven't hired a videographer yet, partly because they start at a grand, and we don't want to spend that much. I know wedding videos are important, but we really just want the ceremony done. If anything else, maybe the cake cutting and dances, that would be it. We definitely don't want a full feature of reception party footage. Any ideas or tips? Thanks.

Re: videographer??

  • If you're looking for straight documentation of the ceremony (rather than a documentary that is edited to flow and show a variety of scenes and angles in a flow), perhaps your photographer can help.  Ask if he has an extra camera body he can set up on a tripod during the ceremony.  Every good DSLR camera should include video capability.  If you're looking for something more - something that you will watch in the same way you will look through your wedding album, then you might want to invest in a videographer who understands lighting and angles and editing and can create a great live-memory of your day.
