Which favors do you like?

I have way too many ideas for favors and I need to cut down the list. Which ones do you guys like the best?

- tree saplings from arborday.org to commemorate our Arbor Day wedding date and nature preserve venue (1 per family, $3/each = about $250)
- candy buffet (already have containers, don't know how much the candy will cost)
- lottery tickets because our wedding date is an auspicious date (very lucky) in the indian and chinese calendars (1 per person= $150)
- Paciugo's gelato cart ($600 for 175 small servings)
- photo booth (most are over $1,000, not sure if we can afford it, or I could set up a DIY one with fabric in the empty wing of our building)

I'd skip the saplings--most will just get thrown away.

We did a candy buffet and liked it--the candy wasn't too bad since we bought alot from Costco.

--The lottery tickest are cool--I like that idea

--Gelato cart would be YUMMY, but that seems pretty dang expensive too

--DIY photobooth would be neat too.

So really, I just don't like the tree idea

If you can swing it - gelato cart! Sounds super fun.

I like all but the tree one.  My favorites would be the gelato cart (yum), the candy buffet, or DIY photo booth.

If you can afford it I would do either the gelato or the photobooth.  I am already doing photobooths for our favor but may also try to put in gelato as a late night snack or with cake nike another knottie on here did.

We did a gelato cart as a late night snack and it was a big hit at our wedding.  Remember that you can reduce the headcount for the gelato cart by about 20% since not everyone will still be at the reception "late" and not everyone will want gelato (crazy but true).
I was just at a wedding where they had Pinkberry yogurt as a late night snack, you might also try pricing that out.

I also like the lotto ticket and candy buffet idea.

The photobooth is cool too but so much more expensive.

Not a fan of the tree sapling idea.

I hate lottery tickets as favors but I'm obviously in the minority.

Candy buffets are always a big hit but they aren't cheap either--but would probably be the cheapest of the other options.

My favorite is the gelato.  I wish I had done it.

I guess I'm the only one that likes the sapling idea.  :-/  I'm kind of a naturist, though. I do understand why others wouldn't pick it as a favor.

I think the gelato idea is great. Most people don't expect a late night snack, so it's always a nice surprise.

I think the candy bar is way too common now. You can't go to a wedding without seeing one. That would be my last choice; it just doesn't set your wedding apart from anyone else's.

Thanks ladies!! I think I will do the candy buffet since I already have the containers and I'll try to find some good cheap candy at Costco or Sam's. I looked up candy online but a lot of it is pretty expensive. Also, our families don't go to a lot of weddings so I think it will seem unique to them.

I LOVE Paciugo's, and decreasing the amount for the gelato would help a lot. For the quote they had actually increased the count- 175 servings for 150 people. For those of you that have had Paciugo's- would the kid's size be too small? That's the size they quoted me, for a regular small it was another $200. I usually can't finish a small so I figured the kid size would work.

I really want to do the photobooth, I'm going to try to find a way to do a cheap DIY version with some vintage fabric as the background. I really wanted to be able to print the pictures right then but that might put it over budget.

I guess I'll ask the family about the lottery tickets and see what they say, they aren't too expensive.

SO I guess the only thing I cut out was the saplings. Laughing
But I think with y'alls suggestions the others might be affordable enough to include them all.
    Thanks again!!

We did the kid-size servings for the gelato cart.  In a four hour reception, we were asking guests to eat h'or douerves, 3 food stations worth of small plates, cake, and gelato.  Honestly, I couldn't even finish my kid size gelato, it's a lot to eat within just a few hours of time!  I think the kid size is totally sufficient, and if someone wants more, they can always go back for seconds.

I like the Gelato but I think the lotto tickets are a nice touch because it is so personal. You could DIY each favor with a short description of the reasoning if it would be needed w/two lotto tickets (one to represent each of you)

I love candy and ice cream...but be a guest at a wedding - I think I would want something tangible that I could take away so that later on I would remember that moment in time (corny I know..some ppl may not care at all but hey what the hell! lol)

Photobooth. The gelato would be nice, but that's expensive and people can go to Paciugo any time. The photobooth will at least give a keepsake and is fun.

I really like this diy photo booth! It's also a cute way to display pictures of your loved one's weddings. I'm sure your guests will love the candy booth! I know a lot of people do it, but I still think there's a lot of ways to personalize it! Maybe bride's favorite, groom's favorite, mother of the bride's favorite.. etc?

Im using SnapzSnap.com Photo Booth, they were easily under a $1000 and look to be a great way for guests to have something to take with them and put on their fridge or cubicle, keeping thoughts of our wedding going for a long time
