I'm not paying $2000 for a PHOTOGRAPHER! (New Jersey)

Hey Gals.. I need your help.. You can call me the SUPER BUDGET BRIDE..

But I'm in search for a photographer that doesn't cost $1899 w/albums..

In fact, I think paying $1500 for flushmount albums is too much! Can someone tell my why flushmount albums are so darn expensive? Has anyone made their own Flushmount albums?

Help me find someone that is relatively cheap; but has exceptional work around $1200.

PS... Bring on the websites!

It would be great also, if you knew someone that has hired them in the past.. Referrals are always better than searching..

  • You might want to ask the girls on the local wedding board, this board can be dead, and those girls will be local.
  • I made my own flush mount album so it can definitely be done. I have a review in my bio.
  • IMO you should be most concerned about having the wedding day photographed properly. I'm sure you can find someone that will give you AN album for a price that fits in your budget, but typically true professional photographers that can be counted on to do a good job will design and product top of the line photo albums that cost them $600+ just to make, without even accounting for any profit. You'll have the rest of your life to address the wedding album issue, but you can never go back and get married again with a better photographer to capture the moments.
  • If there is a photographer that you like and their packages only include albums ask if you can customize a package to take out the album. Many photographers will do this. Then make your own later.

We spoke with our photographer about how much getting an album through her would cost. She gave us the price but also told us that they are very expensive to have done professionally and she gave us other recommendations on doing it ourselves.

I actually bookmarked stephanie's bio a few months ago so I'd remember where I wanted to get my own album done!

  • I've been researching pricing on flush mount leather wedding albums--and they are flipping expensive, I know! Plus you have to factor in that the photographer needs to make a profit from each sale . . .
If I were you I would try to find a reasonably priced album to put together yourself, and I would ask your photographer for the digital files and the rights to have prints made. Many photographers will charge you for the image release--but it should be MUCH cheaper than buying an album through them!

    The owner does amazing work!
She only charged up $1300 and we had a BIG long wedding.

She travels all over. The below photo was taken by her.

I use Genevieve Bergeron Photography for all of my wedding needs and I am a coordinator. Flush mounts take longer, they are seamless so the pictures dont get that line down the middle and they are thicker. They are expensive to make as well. But your photographer should be able to customize a package based on your needs and wants. IF it is in your budget and you love them go for it. If not, find someone who is in your budget and that you love. I know Genevieve travels. Contact her if you have questions but aren't sure about hiring someone from out of state. She will atleast give you advice on how to price out what you want and what your photographer should be doing.
