Photo/Video Slideshow - how to digitize everything?

Hi! I'm wanting to create a video/photo montage of my fiance and I for our rehearsal dinner, from pictures and video from when we were little. Problem is, I don't know how to digitize my home movies - I can scan the photos, but I have no idea what to do about the video. Anyone know of a someone that can do this for me?

Hi there.  the process of digitizing your homemovies is something you can do yourself, or something that a local video production company can do for you.  To do this yourself, you will need some sort of video capture card on your computer.  Then you can hook up your VCR to your computer and capture the video as it is playing from the VCR.  You can buy a capture card from your local bestbuy store or order one from amazon.  Most cards come with their own software.  If you have a lot of movies, it may save you some money to do it youself.

    hope that helps

Our home movies are all on film, so we projected them on a screen and filmed them with our video cameras and loaded up the footage to our computer. If you use a Mac, it is very easy to put them in iMovie and create what you need there. Usually if you get a wedding video they offer the option of creating this slideshow for you.
