Bridal Shower issue

So my FI sister (one of my bridesmaids) is throwing me a bridal shower in their hometown.  She is going to Costa Rica for two months before the wedding and will be back 2 weeks before the wedding.  So the options on dates is April 16th, or the last two weekends in July.  My wedding is Aug 6th.  Would it be bad to have the bridal shower only a two-one weeks before the wedding?

    No, it's not bad, but things might be tight for you then.  It depends.

    But sometimes showers happen early because of scheduling.  I don't think April 16th is ridiculous under the circumstances, but that's me, and I'm pretty flexible on things like this.

    I think any of those days will work. It is hard to work with everyone's schedules and people are typically understanding of that.

    Personally, if it were my I would want the one closer to the wedding versus in April, but again, that is just personal preference.

    I was in a PB where all of us were OOT but 2 of the bridesmaids. Due to scheduling we ended up doing it 2 weeks before the wedding. I think either is fine. Most people, depending on how close they are to the person plan for that and if they send invites out with enough notice there shouldn't be any problems. I.e. not suggesting two months out but you don't want to give people a week's notice either.

    No issue with it being that close but you might regret it because you're going to be so busy the weeks leading up to the wedding.

    I've been told by past brides to not make any plans that aren't wedding related (specifically) for the two weeks before the wedding.

    I would go with the April date, if it's okay with the hostess. Unless she is extremely organized and has a local helper, it would be difficult for her to plan and execute a shower in the two weeks before the wedding. You will be busy with last minute planning, plus a rehearsal dinner. Your guests would probably prefer not to have the shower so close to the wedding, especially during summer/vacation time.

    I think any of those dates are fine. I am getting married October 1st and my bridal shower is in June. That is when two of my OOT bridesmaids will be in town, and I have 5 weddings to attend in the 3 months prior to my wedding :)
