Pre-wedding Parties

Pre-wedding gathering

Hi everyone,

My name is ~Tuck~ and I am getting married very soon!  I know i have not posted here before, just wanted to introduce myself.

Due to various reasons, we are not having a rehearsal dinner.  We are having a small gathering at my apartment a few days before the wedding with the bridal party, where we will give them their gifts and our thanks for being in the wedding.  There will be 8 people total.  What would be some good food options?  We are not looking to do a big dinner, just some snacks and drinks.  This is going to be a very low-key evening.  My other dilemma is that I will have been at work all day, so I need something that is quick/easy, and/or something that I can make the night before and just serve up.  Any suggestions are most welcome.  Thank you!

PS - My cooking skills are less than stellar.

OK, my cooking skills suck.

Oh, I have another one, chili.  That with some bread makes for an awesome evening.  You can do it vegetarian, with chicken or with anything, really.  I know it's more dinner-y.  I think I'm hungry.

My BFF did pizza and it was fun and laid back! Maybe throw in an anti-pasto salad to go along with it ;)

I love those "party platters" that you can get at the store... they have the pre-made ones with meat and cheese and crackers, and sometimes they have ones that you can order and pick up. If you have a giant near you and go to GiantFood.com they have a bunch of good ones - i love their hummus platter. yummmmm.

I love the idea of pizza for a low key affair or even bbq some food up. If you don't have time for bbq... a big hit I always make is Buffalo Chicken Dip. You can make it ahead and reheat it with chips.   But pizza is what I am doing so I am bias! Easy and everyone loves it.

I am doing the same thing with hamburgers, hotdogs and a case of beer.

Cut up fruits and veggies. Bread w/ spinach dip. Mini sandwiches. Rolls. Mini quiche (you can get these frozen). Party platters.
