Rehearsal Dinner in Fort Lauderdale HELP!!!!

well hello fellow brides and brides to be.  I need a little help!!

We are getting married on Sunday April 22, 2012 ast the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, which is located on North Ocean Blvd (a1a) inbetween Sunrise Blvd and Oakland Park Blvd. 

Now here's the issue.  The hotel has VERY VERY expensive pricing to have them host the dinner. 

Since we have only lived in South Florida for a little over a year, we are completely clueless when it comes to local restaurants and places to host.

Most of my guests are coming from out of town, so my rehearsal dinner will consist of almost my entire wedding.  Probably totalling around 70-80 people.

Can anyone help with suggestions?!?!?!

You have a lot of options: I went to a great RL (lunch) at SeaWatch (www.seawatchontheocean.com) a few years ago and they had a private room for us. 
Buca di Beppo is on Federal Hwy near 62nd (Cypress Creek) and they do RD's all the time and I hear it's pretty reasonably priced.  
There's also Blue Moon Fish Co. in Pompano - the food is Ah-mazing!

Agreed post on so fl board - girls are awesome there! My cousin had hers at Bimini boat yard and I know she was on a tight budget - they have a private room a great view and the food is really yummy too.

Maybe a different hotel? The Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Downtown City Center (http://www.hamptoninnfortlauderdale.com/) has some nice meeting rooms that can work for you…
