    You should not take offense. It's no concern of yours how your friends spend their money and throwing a cheap shower =/= cheap looking shower. You can still have a great shower without someone spending a ton of money on it.

    My MOH told me, after my wedding, that my shower cost $2,000.  I felt horrible about it because that was a crazy amount of money to me.  Why would you want your friend to shell a lot of money for a party? I'm sure your MOH would still throw a very nice party, but not one that will break the bank.

    Shouldn't you be happy for your MOH for her great new job, and be excited on her behalf for her vacations?

    Just because she has a higher income doesn't mean she shouldn't need to try to save money when planning your shower.  If in fact she is splitting the cost with the rest of the WP and your family, its a lovely gesture for her to want to keep costs down.
