What is a "personal" shower?

My co-worker, Amy, was invited to her friend's bridal shower and the invitation says "personal" shower.  There is no registry information on the invite.  Amy has e-mailed the host of the shower but hasn't heard back and the shower is coming up soon.  Does anyone know what this means?

    I think it may be a lingerie shower.

    The guests bring personal gifts for the bride - lingerie, perfume, toiletries, clothing accessories, travel items for the honeymoon. If your friend can't get a-hold of the host, she could buy a gift card to VS or some other lingerie shop. A bottle of champagne and flutes would be a nice gift, too.
