Bridal Shower invitations....help

I am the MOH and the mother of the bride is throwing the bride a surprise bridal shower.  i am helping with the invitations as far as ordering and sending them out.  everyone is rsvp'ing back to me.  does this mean that i should be paying for the invitations?  pls help i dont know what to do or how to approach the subject with the MOB.  thank you for your help.

    Technically, the MOB is not really supposed to host a shower, but a lot of them do anyway. I think I would just contact her and say, "I'm ready to order invitations. How many do we need?" and see if she responds with just a number or an offer to pay. You really should have discussed who was paying for them when you were tasked with ordering and sending them, though, to avoid this confusion!
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    I would just pay for them. It sounds like you already agreed to help with this part of the shower, and it's one less thing the MOB has to worry about if you do. But if cash is tight, then yes, you need to approach this subject with the MOB just to clairify what she thinks you agreed to with the invites.
